Remember what I said about giving you something with the training I was offering? I’ve got it now. The guy’s name is Fushimi, username #0000B2. He doesn’t technically live with me but he never goes home, either. Right now, he’s wounded and recovering, but I still gave him another teacher and a student to get him by on combat.
But I want you to take care of him, too. He’s an ass, so don’t take anything he says to heart, but I’ve got the feeling he has a lot more going on than he admits, too. I helped him out the first day we were here, but he didn’t seem used to it.
The point he’s missing is that connections with people are the key to everything. Life, power, progress. He’s not going to get anywhere if he’s keeping everything in and sulking in bed. I don’t care what you decide to do to help him with that, but he’ll probably fight it, either way. Try to get to know him, anyway. You’ve got a good way of handling people like him.
But tell me if he goes over a line and I’ll kick his ass.
[On this one, what he is not telling Dextera is that he convinced Fushimi into going along with this by saying that Dextera was just another teacher who had “a lot for him to learn”... so, have fun.]

Dextera-san, this is Midoriya. I didn't manage to catch you outside the forest and it's already really late.
Please let me know if you got out okay or not.
Please let me know if you got out okay or not.
Dextera, right? It's Akira. We went into the forest together.
How have you been?
[Aka have you felt fucking weird and do you still feel fucking weird?]

I need you to come over when you see this.
[That's all he sends... And even if Dextera replies, Guren will be too busy to see it. He's going back and forth between his house and the apothecary he found recently, and now he finally thinks he's settled in. Everything he needs is in the basement, but he's just waiting on Dextera.
Whenever he does show up, Guren is just in the kitchen eating an apple in a shitty frilly peasant shirt and hating it. But he'll be at the door quick, whether Dextera knocks or doesn't.]

[He'd been at work in his room when he first noticed the colors coming from outside of the window. It was gradual, slowly setting in, and a glance outside shows him that he's not just imagining it. It's wild to think that the town was changing like this while they were all in it. Maybe because they were all in it.
A handful of things cross his mind right then. First, that he's been pushing himself again, and that he's starting to get tired. This time, though, he thinks that maybe he can put it down and take a brief break. Then, there's another thought, a memory— hadn't he and Dextera spoken about the sky? Dextera's sky was a blood red, but they talked about blue. Guren considers the sky, the way it looks like it's shifting into the beginnings of a sunset, and then he shuts his laptop and heads out silently.
It doesn't take him long to get to Dextera's house. He's memorized the quickest route, by now, and even if he was trying to be casual about it, his paces were longer than usual to get here before anything vanished or changed. Now, he lets himself in, only stopping to knock on Dextera's door, or, if it's already open, the wall nearby.]
Dex? [Where you at, come here]

Did you get a bottle of some sort of liquid, too?
[That was the first message Guren sent. He waits ten minutes, and then worry sets in, and he sends another.]
Don't try to drink it yet. I want to look at it first.
[And, of course, when that meets silence as well... He doesn't know what else typing will help with, and he doesn't want to wait and see. It's only been about a half hour since his first message, but he doesn't want to risk anything. He heads over to Dextera's house with the intent of barging right in, no knocking or anything!! He's a man on a mission, he's gonna find him...]

Dextera-san? I've been wondering something since we did the quest with Noctis-san. Were you using some form of sign language to talk to us?
[Hello, yes, he's here.
Damian is, in fact, Damian and not Robin. He's still in the Padawan-ish looking clothes he fashioned out the ones loaned to him, and he also is being followed by a German Shepherd.
Dextera may or may not have already noticed the hutch. Damian had Clark deliver it with him, but then he left for a bit before returning to give Dextera the heads up. It's not one that looks like it has been built by material in the town. It's too nicely crafted. Hm.
Anyhow, he knocks on the door (??) to see if anyone is present so he can let them know about the hutch.]

[Izuku manages to wait about a week after delivering the potion before he finally checks in on Dextera again.]
So...how did it go?
So...how did it go?
Dextera!
[Guess who's here and yelling for his buddy before he even heads up the stairs. Does he knock? No, he basically lives here. But this time, he's stopping to pet Spot, the dumb spoiled bird. He has no real plan for being here, so... He just wants to check on his bud and make sure everything's okay.]
You in here? [Now he's heading up the stairs.]

[ GUESS WHO'S PUTTERING ABOUT IN THE KITCHEN MAKING DINNER, DEX
also it smells like delicious bluefin tuna and it turns out noctis is not half bad at cooking, either. it's not really his thing, but hey. dinner with dex is almost always a good thing. so when he hears movement, he calls out. ]
Dex, that you?

Dex, that you?
[The next time Dextera goes out to the hutch, he will have a gift. A single linen sack sits at the hinge of the door of the hutch fence, bulging full. If there's any chickens in the hutch, they'll surely be furiously trying to peck it from between the wire.
Opening it reveals the reason for their madness: chicken feed. There's also a small note, but one of the frantic chickens snatches it, vacuuming it through the fence. Dextera will have to retrieve it.
On one side is written in the neatest, tightest handwriting:]
Change daily.

[It's been some time since their reunion, since Dextera letting everyone else know he's alive, since their first time... and Guren has been busy a lot of the time with the defense force stuff. Today, though, it's long enough after the meeting that he can set aside some of the things he's been thinking on and working out, and he can wait on taking out Tonbokiri and the small group he's created for tomorrow...
He's not really sure what's going to happen there. So he wants to make sure he doesn't waste any time. He's got his uniform minus the jacket on, that bracelet of Dextera's, and no, he's not slicking his hair back for a date!!
Instead, he's making sure no one else in this nosy ass house is going to see him in the front yard, or on the way to Dextera's room. He doesn't want to be stopped for questions! So, he slips into the room and shuts the door behind him, sliding his gaze over to Dextera as soon as he does.]
...Hey.

...Hey.
[He deserves to worry like this.
That's all he can think as he sits in Dextera's room, leaning back against the wall, facing the door. He's got his sun pendant in his palm, rolling it between his fingers and focusing on that. There's a cat he hasn't really noticed yet that wandered in at some point, but it doesn't seem to be aggressive towards the chickens, so Guren just pets it with his free hand, grateful for another distraction.
His brother really showed up. What does that mean for things? Is he really hurt? He can't be dead. Right? This thing has to work. Gifts like this always do. But all he can do is wait and ignore the sick feeling building in his stomach. He has a bad feeling about all of this... and that feels so wrong, too. Like he has no right.
He can sense when Dextera walks in downstairs, but he's not going to look too desperate when he enters. He pockets the pendant, but he pets the cat until whenever it decides to walk away, looking up when he enters, and checking first for any injuries.]

[Okay, he actually meant to talk to Dex earlier about a bunch of things, but he hadn't had the chance to. UNTIL NOW...]
Hey, Dextera-san! I was wondering if I could come over? I have something to give you!

I have a copy of the Bible, if you're interested in borrowing it. A couple of passages are a bit blurry, but the rest of the text is legible.
Can I come over? I want to talk to you about something.

[ one morning, about a week after the siren incident, a few knocks will soundly pound on the door. there will be a small shuffle right after and suddenly it's gone. if you go to answer the door no one will be there, but instead on the foot of the doorstep is a blue flower crown. it's made with careful care and adorn with flowers to match the right shade as closely as possible. next to it is a folded note, which reads in careful script: ]
A gift to you, for your courage and kindness in coming to my aid during dark times. In the spirit of the quest, I gift you this crown as proof of your valor during the recent siren kidnappings.
Sincerely,
Zelda
[ though it seems zelda is nowhere in sight. ]
[ ooc: feel free to leave this message as is, or if your character wants they can message zelda. ]

[He can't believe this is the hardest thing he's had to do in the longest time. But it's been a few days since a serious conversation, and a whole month of stress... They deserve as much off time as they can get, right?]
Hey, are you busy?
